As expected, the AMA has officially endorsed the Continuity of Care Record. CareGroup has added RelayHealth's doctor-patient communication product to its PatientSite portal. Mount Clemens General Hospital inked a $70-million outsourcing deal with CareTech. Elsewhere, A4 and ibex announced emergency department deals. The AMA has become a sponsor of the recently passed Continuity of Care Record standard. The CCR promises to provide clinicians with electronic access to accurate patient hand-off information in XML or Health Level 7 format prior to treatment. Other CCR sponsors include ASTM International, the Massachusetts Medical Society, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Patient Safety Institute.
